IAS Officer Bhagwan Singh Uike Appointed as New Collector of Gariaband District

Gariaband, Chhattisgarh – April 21, 2025: IAS officer Bhagwan Singh Uike has officially taken charge as the new Collector of Gariaband district. He assumed office on Monday, succeeding outgoing Collector Deepak Agrawal, who welcomed him with warm wishes and a bouquet during the handover ceremony held at the District Office.

Meet Gariaband’s 13th Collector: Shri Bhagwan Singh Uike

A 2016-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, Shri Uike brings with him a wealth of administrative experience. Before his appointment in Gariaband, he served as the Additional Collector at Antagarh in North Bastar Kanker district.

Focus on Efficient Governance and Public Welfare

Upon assuming charge, Collector Uike held an introductory meeting with key district officials and reviewed ongoing development projects. He emphasized his commitment to accelerating the district’s progress by ensuring the effective and 100% implementation of government welfare schemes.

“Delivering the benefits of public welfare programs to every citizen will be my top priority,” he stated.

Warm Welcome by District Administration

The District Administration extended a cordial welcome to the new Collector. Senior officials including Chief Executive Officer of District Panchayat Shri G.R. Markam, Additional Collectors Shri Arvind Pandey, Shri Prakash Rajput, and Shri Naveen Bhagat, along with all Sub-Divisional Magistrates and departmental officers, were present during the occasion.
