Encounter between police and Naxalites, Gariaband police got big success, one Naxalite killed
Gariaband: Gariaband Police Captain Amit Tukaram Kamble received informer’s information and Additional Superintendent of Police D.C. On Patel’s guidance and supervision of Sub-Divisional Officer Mainpur Anuj Kumar Gupta, today Police E-30 Gariaband District Force and DRG Inter Team with District Force Dhamtari had left for village Ekavari forest area under Police Station Borai area on Joint Party Searching Patrol, which is Mainpur Nuapada. Local intelligence was received of 30-35 armed Maoists from Sitanadi Area Committee along with Joint Division Committee Command-in-Chief DVCM Satyam Gawde. On which the Maoists were ambushed from the east and were sitting on the forest, in village Kavari forest under Borai police station, on August 27, 2023, at around 14:00 pm, the Naxalites, seeing the police search party, opened firing with the intention of killing them.
The Police Searching Party retaliated while defending the beach. Seeing the police party getting overwhelmed, the Naxalites fled towards the dense forest. Police Searching Party recovered 01 uniformed male Naxalite, 01 Gun 303 Rifle, 01 No. BGL weapon along with other Naxalite material after searching the incident site.
Based on the information received by senior officers, 30 armed and uniformed Maoist cadres led by Mainpur Nuapada Joint Division Committee Command-in-Chief DVCM Satyam Gawde, on the evening of 26 August 2023, in the forest area located between village Ekavari and Karipani under Thana Borai area. A group of 35 was sighted. In view of the possible activities of Maoists in the above area, the joint party of E-30 District Force and DRG Dhamtari from District Gariaband got success in the special action plan of Searching Patrol Campaign on 27 August 2023.
