Newly appointed Collector Akash Chhikara did an introductory meeting with media persons

Gariaband: Collector Akash Chhikara interacted with the journalists of local print and electronic media in the Collectorate hall after meeting and introductory meeting and while talking to all the journalists discussed the issues related to the development of the district. He said that media is making its important contribution for the betterment of the society.

The role of media should be as an accurate information providing agency. It is through the media that the society gets information about the events happening in the whole world and in the state and district. That’s why the media should try to verify the facts of this information. The presentation of the media should be such that it can guide the society. Collector Akash Chhikara expressed hope from all the media representatives. As always, they should play an important role in spreading information about public welfare schemes to the public through their media.

So that the needy and eligible beneficiaries get the benefit of these schemes in a better way. He also discussed with the journalists about the development of the district getting a better pace. During this, the journalists apprised the collector about the problems of urban and rural areas. Journalists from various print and electronic media including Additional Collector Avinash Bhoi, District Public Relations Officer Hemnath Sidar were present in the introductory meeting.
