Foreign investors again became king, made a huge investment of so many crores in the Indian stock market

New Delhi/Sources: The confidence of foreign investors in the Indian stock market has increased again. A major change has been seen in the attitude of foreign portfolio investors (FPIs). Foreign investors have invested more than Rs 1,500 crore in Indian stock markets in February. Last month in January, he had made huge withdrawals from shares. Amidst the better quarterly results of companies and positive economic growth, FPIs are once again investing in the Indian stock market. According to depository data, apart from this, FPIs have put Rs 22,419 crore in the loan or bond market in February.

Mayank Mehra, principal partner, Craving Alpha, said, “The FPI outlook for March also looks positive. Due to the strength of the economy and better performance of the corporate world, FPI’s attraction towards Indian shares is expected to continue.” According to the data, FPI has invested a net amount of Rs 1,539 crore in the Indian stock market in February. In January he had withdrawn Rs 25,743 crore from shares.

Himanshu Srivastava, associate director-manager research, Morningstar Investment Research India, said the improvement in the global economic environment has prompted FPIs to invest in high-growth markets like India. He said that on the domestic front, the third quarter GDP figures have been strong, which has attracted foreign investors. VK Vijayakumar, chief investment strategist, Geojit Financial Services, said the bond yields in the US are very high. Despite this, FPIs have made net investments in Indian stocks.

Talking about the debt or bond market, FPIs have been investing money in the debt market for the last few months, influenced by the announcement of inclusion of Government of India bonds in the JP Morgan index. They have invested Rs 22,419 crore in the bond market in February, Rs 19,836 crore in January, Rs 18,302 crore in December, Rs 14,860 crore in November and Rs 6,381 crore in October.

Overall, so far this year, FPIs have withdrawn Rs 24,205 crore from the Indian stock market. During this period he has injected Rs 42,000 crore into the debt market.
