The country’s largest airline IndiGo on Monday said that it has placed a record order for 500 Airbus A320 aircraft. Indigo wants to expand itself a lot in the coming times. For this he has given this huge order. This airline is getting a lot of competition after Air India went to Tata Group.

57.5% share in the Indian market

Indigo has a lot of dominance in the Indian aviation market. The airline had a domestic market share of 57.5 per cent in the Indian aviation market as of April 2023 records.

Aircraft will be available between 2030 and 2035

In a statement, Indigo airline termed the order as the largest purchase of a single aircraft by an airline from Airbus. The airline said that the delivery of the planes will take place between 2030 and 2035. “This order of 500 aircraft is not only IndiGo’s largest order, but also the largest single aircraft order by an airline from Airbus,” the airline said in a statement.

What is the cost of the order?        

Talking about the price, this order is worth more than $ 50 billion. However, the actual amount will be much less, as such a large order will get a substantial discount. Earlier in March, Air India had placed an order for 470 aircraft.
